Napa Cellars Merlot Red Wine is a classic, approachable dry red wine. Dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry and red plum aromas lead to flavors of dark berries, black cherry, dark chocolate, brown sugar and caramel complemented by notes of vanilla, smoky tobacco and soft leather. This medium to full-bodied dry wine has well-structured tannins and balanced acidity through a long finish. The 2019 vintage received 92 points from James Suckling in 2021. Open a wine bottle to pair with roasted pork loin with thyme and onions, grilled flat iron steak or fresh berries. This California red wine comes from mid-southern Napa Valley, including Oak Knoll, along with a small portion from St. Helena and Carneros, where moderate to cool climates produce intricate, complex, balanced red wine Merlot. Once harvested, the grapes underwent a 10 to 16 day maceration period and were fermented using the delestage method. After the fermentation process was completed, the wine was aged for 15 months in 100% French oak barrels, 36% of which were new. This bottled wine has 14.2% alcohol by volume.
